Newcastle United

Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional football club that currently plays in the Premier League. Fans also call it “The Magpies” or “The Toon”. Newcastle Utd is situated in Newcastle upon Tyne and the home ground of the team is St James’ Park. It is the club’s stadium from the founding year. This football stadium has a capacity of 52,387 all seated. St James’ Park is the fourth largest football stadium in England. It consists of four sides: the Gallowgate End (officially the Newcastle Brown Ale Stand), the Leazes End (officially the Sir John Hall Stand), the Milburn Stand (after 1950s legend Jackie Milburn ) and the East Stand. The club has plans to increase the stadium’s capacity to around 60,000. For this reason Newcastle United intend to spend £300million.

The present chairman of the club is Christopher “Chris” Mort. He is an English lawyer. The current manager of the team is Samuel “Sam” Allardyce. Sam is an English former professional football player. He played for such clubs as: Bolton Wanderers (1973-1980), Sunderland (1980-1981), Millwall (1981-1983), Tampa Bay Rowdies (1983 ), Coventry City (1983-1984), Huddersfield Town (1984-1985), Bolton Wanderers (1985-1986), Preston North End (1986-1989), West Bromwich Albion (198 -1991), Limerick (1991-1992), Preston North End (1992). Allardyce was a manager of such teams: Limerick (1991-1992), Blackpool (1994-1996), Notts County (1997-1999), Bolton Wanderers (1999-2007). The Newcastle United Football Club appeared as a result of merging of two clubs, Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End in 1892. It is highly ranked as one of the most successful clubs in English football history. For the present moment the club having won the First Division Championship four times and the FA Cup six times.
